Looking For That Someone.
Ever since I was young, I have been bombarded with this idea of love. I think we all have. We saw it on television and movie screens, read about it fairy tales and novels, and witnessed it through parents and strangers. We saw it all around us. I think there will always be part of all of us that really wants to find it, or at least want to believe in its existence. We all want to believe that love wasn’t just another lie told to us and this dreamt up fantasy.
And I guess that’s why we always want to find the one. To find that person who is the proof of the existence of love. To find that person who can make us believe in good again while being in a cynical world where we have learnt to be hopeless and lost. To find that person who makes us feel good enough again during those difficult days when we feel worthless and flawed. To find that person who you can trust to be there for you on every speed bump of life and won’t leave you.
I think it would be a lie if someone said they didn’t want to believe that happily ever afters existed. I think that a part of all of us want to meet that someone who can understand you when it fees like no one else, who believes in you and makes you believe in yourself, and who you can lay with doing nothing and still be able to call it a good day. I think we’re all looking for that someone.
